you didn't?! I thought it was definitely kirsten's best work to date...well, maybe second to interview with a vampire.

kirsten was great i absolutly adore her in it. lalala. but i can actually see why people don't like her in it, the role is kind of hate-or-love like. i know i don't make any sence.. well anyway.. according to me, she's great.

in some ways, I think that role was a little ahead of her, like....she wasn't ready for it emotionally...but nonetheless, she was still absolutely amazing.

The book is really good, if you haven't read it, it's definitely one you should add to your read list. It helps you understand the movie just that much more. Not that the movie isn't excellently done, though, don't get me wrong. Mary has a bigger part in the book too, which, I know, someone pointed out already.

I agree, the book is wonderful. very well written. I think Sofia did an AMAZING job adapting it to the screen. (especially since it was her first movie EVER) most directors couldn't do that after their 25th movie!
and yes, mary's character was more prominent in the book, but I think her character was second to lux in the movie as well.
